ImAFUSA — Communication & Dissemination Lead

Led communication and dissemination for a SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking project evaluating the environmental, socio-economic, and safety factors influencing citizen acceptance of Urban Air Mobility.

ImAFUSA was a research project under the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking involving 8 partners from 7 countries. The project focused on a critical question for the future of urban transport: what factors influence citizens’ acceptance of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions such as air taxis, delivery drones, and other innovative aerial vehicles operating in urban environments?

The project delivered a comprehensive framework for local authorities and U-space stakeholders to deploy socially acceptable UAM solutions in cities, taking into account environmental impact, socio-economic factors, noise concerns, and safety perceptions.

As Dissemination and Communication Manager, responsibilities included:

  • Managing the project website and all social media channels
  • Authoring formal project deliverables for the SESAR Joint Undertaking
  • Producing newsletters in collaboration with the design team
  • Translating complex scientific outputs on social acceptance, environmental modelling, and safety assessment into accessible formats
  • Coordinating content across the multinational consortium
  • Chairing monthly communication alignment meetings
  • Planning events including the Aviation Twin Transition Cluster Event in Athens

Successfully grew an engaged social media following and surpassed all KPIs for press mentions. Communication outputs were widely praised. ImAFUSA research was named Best Technical Paper at the 2025 ITS Congress.
