AEF Scoping Report

A comprehensive 51-page report on the environmental challenges facing the Argosaronic region, drafted as sole author from existing studies, national and European environmental data, stakeholder interviews, and site visits. The report became a model for new Conservation Collective foundations.

This scoping report was one of the first major deliverables of the Argolic Environment Foundation, designed to map the environmental landscape of the Argosaronic Gulf region and identify priority areas for conservation action. As sole author, the report was researched and written over a four-month period.

The research drew on multiple sources:

  • Existing environmental studies and academic literature on the Argosaronic region
  • National environmental data from Greek government agencies
  • European satellite and environmental monitoring data
  • Stakeholder interviews with local experts, fishers, conservationists, and community leaders
  • On-site visits and direct observation across the Argosaronic Gulf

The 51-page report covered the full spectrum of environmental challenges facing the region — from marine pollution and overfishing to coastal development and habitat degradation — and outlined a framework for prioritising conservation action.

The quality and thoroughness of the report was recognised by the Conservation Collective network, which adopted it as a model for other newly established foundations to follow when scoping their own regions. This validated both the methodology and the communication approach used.
